Being interviewed by police tomorrow
by moley inwell tomorrow is a big day for me.
i'm finally going to be interviewed by the police about what happened to me as a kid.. im running the whole gamut of emotions at the moment.
sad, anxious, angry, guilt, fear and many more that cannot be quantified.. i feel physically sick, cannot sleep, have lost my appetite and i am desperately trying not to self harm.. i've got my sister to thank for getting this far.

Such a good experience I love it! You did what I do, I just can't help it at times. When I bought my first real christmas tree the guy who sold it could see I was jumping with excitement so of course I told him it was my first tree...so he asked...so I told. That is just how it goes. I would love to see your costume too.
Glad you had a great time, cool your daughter invited you.

Coordinator of Elders Problems in One Southern England Circuit!
by The Searcher ininformation just passed to me.
let's hope this becomes even more widespread.
i wonder if the britain branch suspects a conspiracy?

I would imagine that those statistics will hold up in most of the circuits in the UK, so many are stepping down these days. I think they will find it impossible to function soon if the really old loyal elders start to throw in the towel as there is no one to step into their places, they young just can't be bothered. -

Welcome to you shattered origins, you do know you are very fortunate don't you? You are still young and have a life ahead of you. So many of us on this board have been in all our lives and are getting old and we wished we had woken up sooner, even though better late than never. So keep on checking things out and go out and enjoy your life and leave all the Jw stuff behind.
All the best to you.

CO Comes Up With A New Way To Be Judgemental...
by JW_Rogue inat the latest co visit something very strange happened.
during the meeting with the elders and servants he passed out a copy of a hypothetical publisher card and asked us what we could learn from it.
upon receiving it i saw that the average hours were pretty good, it had return visits and quite a few bible studies.

Hardtobeme....I remember we had a young brother who came into the "truth" and said he was of the annointed. This was around 1978, he was disfellowshipped within a short period of time due to his claims of being annointed. As you stated the 1935 cut off date was very much quoted at the time and I even remember talking for hours with my old bible study to prove to her that she would not be going to heaven based on this 1935 date. I feel sad now that I took away something that was very dear to her by relying on the WT flip flop doctrines.
When I went to pioneer school an elder said that to look for a good marriage mate we should ask to see there publisher card for the past few years!! Crap! I knew pioneers that made up their hours and placements and did not blink an eye about it.

Welcome River Song, hope your husband enjoys his day and your daughter too. I just put a skull with a flashlight outside my door and a bowl of sweets with a skeleton hand in the bowl, all ready in case some of the kids come by...it is not really a big tradition here in Scandinavia but you never know...I have been out 9 years and this is the first time, so I am a slow learner.
All the best

Just found out their about to baptise my 14 year old boy.
by Crazyguy inthere doing this right under my nose but i just found out.
not sure what to do but would like your help on getting me wt information on my headship role and how they shouldn't be doing this with out my permission.
also would like some help on showing my son the ramifications on what happens to someone when they get baptized and how they'll expect him to treat me.

Just to warn you of a possibility. We had two young girls studying in our congregation, their parents were not attending meetings or interested after an initial period of study. They did not want their girls to get baptized so it was all kept secret and the baptism was arranged at a private home with a pool. We were told not to talk about it. That is the theocratic war technique that they justify in such circumstances. These girls were 16 and 17 years old from a muslim background (parents were very western minded, not religious really).
Both girls are out of the religion now but it caused so much tension and division in the family.
Be aware.
I know of over 20 young ones from my previous congregation that are out now. Some paid the price when being disfellowshipped at an early age. It is awful the guilt that is heaped upon them to stay or return if they have left.
The video on youtube with the young collage girl explaining why she is not a Jw any longer would be good for your son to see, it is a young person talking to other young people, hard to ignore the message she is getting across.
All the best

I do not know if this will help you Ata crossroads but if I could relate how my husband handled his leaving it may give a few cues for your husband.
When he decided he was not going back, he took his elder's book and kh keys and went to the meeting. He spoke with the elders and shook their hands and said that he would not be coming to any more meetings. He told them very clearly that he would never discuss his reasons for not attending and that he did not want to receive any visits. He wished them all the best and walked out. End of story. He has kept that stance every time someone has knocked on the door (only three times in 8 years). I think the elders were completely taken aback and had no idea how to handle the situation as my husband was very active, very well liked and one of the most approachable elders they had on the body. I think in the slang terminology they were "gobsmacked"...
So if your husband sticks to his guns, keeps his head level and really is consistent he will come through this. He has the added burden of family to deal with but I think if he is just as adamant with them he just might get the point across that he is in charge of his own life, not them.
All the best to you both xx
